In 2018 and 2019, three organizations committed to youth development and civic engagement will join forces to empower young leaders ages 5 to 25 to engage in their democracy! PeaceJam Rocky Mountain, the Colorado Center for Civic Learning and Engagement (C3LE), and the University of Denver’s Public Achievement Program are launching a state-wide initiative to broaden our youth’s understanding of participation in the democratic process, even for those who are too young to vote. This cross-institutional collaboration will bring young people to the Colorado State Capitol to meet their legislators and learn about issues affecting the citizens of Colorado. Save the date for the first ever Civic Action SLAM at the Capitol on December 14th.
